We often get asked what apps and tools we use at Motto. As entrepreneurs ourselves, we rely on a collection of various apps to help us be more productive. Here is a list of ten favorites.

Noisli: Background noise generator.

Noisli improves focus and boosts your productivity with fantastic background noise. Mix different sounds and create your perfect environment for working and relaxing. You can load it on your browser or download the app. Our go-to mix is 75% train track with a little bit of B noise. A cozy nighttime mix is 20% fire and a smidgen of the moon. You’ll want some Wondermade marshmallows to go with that one.

Calendly: Simple, beautiful scheduling.

Finding a time that works for everyone to schedule a meeting can be a headache. Calendly makes scheduling simple by letting people book appointments based on our mutual availability. It’s a total time saver because it eliminates the email back and forth of figuring out what time is suitable for everyone. We loved using it so much with him that we started using it for Motto. People who schedule meetings with us on Calendly love it too. Win-win.

Momentum: Your personal homepage dashboard.

Momentum is a personal dashboard designed to rid distractions and provide focus and productivity. It’s a homepage replacement for Chrome that focuses you throughout your work day. On its surface, it’s a simple productivity app that lets you keep a to-do list atop a stunning nature photo. When you begin to use Momentum, it creeps into your workflow, reminding you of what’s essential so you can get things done.

Buffer

Buffer is a social media management tool designed to simplify the process of scheduling posts, tracking performance, and managing multiple social media accounts from a single dashboard. Entrepreneurs can use Buffer to maintain a consistent online presence, engage with their audience, and analyze their social media strategy’s success without spending a lot of time on various platforms.

Hemingway: Helps you write better.

Hemingway App makes your writing bold and clear. Hemingway highlights long sentences and common errors so you know what to revise. If you see a yellow highlight, shorten the sentence or split it. If you see a red highlight, your sentence is so dense and complicated that your readers will get lost trying to follow it. If you see a blue highlight, reduce the amount of adverbs so it’s more effective. If Hemingway doesn’t help you become a better writer,… that’s impossible. While you’re at it, check out Grammarly too.

Rise Alarm Clock: Wake up pleasant.

If waking up were a piece of cake, alarm clocks wouldn’t come with scary sounds that rattle the shit out of people into getting out of bed. I don’t know about you, but the noise a golf cart makes when backing up isn’t the most enjoyable wake-up call. The Rise Alarm Clock app is beautifully designed, making waking up as pleasant as possible. It’s super simple to operate (you snooze by shaking your phone), and the minimalist design is an excellent way to ease into your morning.

Zight: Capture and share.

We always share screenshots of work in progress and other captures with our team. It might make it easy to do that. When you take a screenshot, it automatically uploads it to the cloud and puts a link in your clipboard — All you have to do is paste the link. Shared. Done.

Zapier: Easier automation.

Zapier is an online automation tool that allows you to connect your favorite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, and over 3,000 others. You can automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the connection. It’s an excellent tool for entrepreneurs because it streamlines workflows and increases efficiency by automating actions across different apps.

Slack: Communicate in one place.

Slack is the most awesome app we use. It brings all your communication together in one excellent app. It offers real-time messaging, archiving, and search for modern teams like Motto. Plus, you can share funny gifs, create topic-based chat rooms and invite others to collaborate.

Notion: Powerful project management.

Notion is an all-in-one workspace tool that combines note-taking, task management, databases, and collaboration. It provides a highly customizable interface that allows users to create tailored workspaces to fit various needs. For entrepreneurs, Notion’s versatility can be a game-changer, enabling them to centralize information, collaborate with team members, and create streamlined workflows all within one platform.
